Step1: Design Review
Before starting the manufacturing process, our mold design details are thoroughly reviewed to ensure their accuracy and feasibility. Our review includes checking dimensions, tolerances, materials, parting lines, gates, cooling channels, ejection systems, and other key features. Any necessary modifications or improvements are made at this stage.

 

Step2: Mold Material Selection
For automotive grille mould, we usually use 1045 steel for mould base, P20 or 718 steel for core and cavities.

 

Step3: Rough Machining
Our rough CNC machines are used to remove excess material from the mould base, cavities, cores, and other components. The general outline of the automotive grille mould can be formed.

 

Step4:Heat Treatment
After rough machining, heat treatment is performed on the mould components to enhance their hardness, strength, and wear resistance. Our common heat treatment processes include hardening, tempering, and nitriding.

 

Step5:Precision Machining
After the mould is heated, the mould structures are finely processed. This process includes high-speed CNC milling, EDM, wire cutting, drilling, boring and grinding for details like parting surfaces, cooling channels, gate features, and ejection systems.

 

Step:6:Mould Assembly
We will review the dimensions of the grille mould components and assemble the mould after checking that they are correct.

 

Step7:Finishing and Polishing
After assembly, we will polish and other surface treatments on each component to ensure that the surface of the grille produced is smooth.

 

Step8:Inspection and Testing
Before delivery, we will measure the dimensions of the mould and conduct the first trial mould on the injection molding machine. If the trial mould is in good condition, we will send the relevant documents or samples to the customer for inspection.
